Prize Pool: $5000

  • Grand Champion: $1200

  • Reserve Champion: $600

  • 1st Place (each category): $300 (x4 = $1200)

  • 2nd Place (each category): $250 (x4 = $1000)

  • 3rd Place (each category): $200 (x4 = $800)

  • People's Choice: $200

Entry Fee

  • Professional Teams: $400 per team

Friday, June 13, 2025

  • 11:00 AM: Arrival and setup begins

  • 6:00 PM: Team meeting and welcome event

Saturday, June 14, 2025

  • 7:00 AM: Pre-competition breakfast for competitors and judges

  • 8:00 AM: Meat inspection

  • 9:00 AM: Competition begins

  • 10:00 AM: Pitmaster University Class Commences

  • 5:00 PM: Official Event Opening Party - Live Music, Bar and Restaurant Open

Sunday, June 15, 2025

  • 11:00 AM: Event opens to the public

  • 12:00 PM: Chicken turn-in

  • 12:30 PM: Pork Ribs turn-in

  • 1:00 PM: Pork Butt turn-in

  • 1:30 PM: Brisket turn-in

  • 2:00 PM: Tips for Treats

  • 3:30 PM: Team presentations

  • 5:00 PM: Awards ceremony

  • POST AWARDS - Festival Closure, Live Music, Bar, Restaurant Open.

Monday, June 16, 2025

  • Morning: Pack up and departure

Additional Information

  • 6x4 space provided for each team's competition area

  • Camping area included with entry

  • Self-contained setup required (limited power available)

  • Toilets and showers provided onsite

  • Water top-up facilities available

  • Ice available for purchase

  • Teams must participate in minimum 50 Tips for Treats (charity support)

  • No BYO alcohol during restaurant opening hours

Rules and Regulations

  • KCBS competition rules apply

  • Teams are responsible for reading and following all KCBS rules and regulations

  • Each team must have a 5 pound or larger, 3-A, 40BC rated fire extinguisher near all cooking devices

  • The head cook is responsible for the actions of the team

By participating, competitors agree to abide by all KCBS rules and event regulations. Any significant changes to the event will be communicated to teams at least three months prior to the event's commencement.
